Panorama

Exodus played great music with a playful spirit.
They took the prize for 2003. (Chris background right)

Neal & Massy Trinidad All Stars
played the song, "Pandora"
Notice the stick women pan players above the sign.
The wire women
(headscarf, top an shorts for the body and metal arms holding drum sticks)
appeared to be dancing/playing because the entire structure vibrates to the rhythm of the pan players below.

Bogsie Sharp's group was the sentimental favorite.  Here they look ready for battle but they were out played by Exodus.

As usual, there was a overflowing crowd for Panorama.

Chris mixes with the reporters.

Marco (brown shirt) was in Trinidad for his first Carnaval.
A quiet German engineer by day, he is a Soca DJ by night.
He is an expert on Soca but a novice when it came to Carnaval.
He told us he felt lucky to end up staying at a B & B
with a group of Carnaval pros.
He joined Chris, Jan, Margarita and I on our Adventures.
We all had a great time.

Friends, old and new, from our B & B

Margarita, in black, plays with a steel pan group in Switzerland.  She is originally from El Salvador.  She is being interviewed for her opinions about Panorama. In the days leading up to Panorama,
we followed Margaroita to several pan yards.  Pan yards are where the steel pan bands practice.

Jan (blue t-shirt) has been following the blue devils for years.
She is a expert on

J'Ouvert

Old Mas and Blue Devils.  Jan, Margarita and I went out for J'Ouvert dressed as the traditional character, Dame Lorane.
There were three women form Japan staying at our B & B.  Hemo above far right is a Soca DJ in Japan.
