The kids play the bamboo by tapping the bamboo on the ground.
They add to the rhythm by tapping on the bamboo with a stick.
This is called Tamboo Bamboo.
They started using bamboo (and eventually steel oil barrels)
to create rhythms when the use of drums was outlawed in Trinidad.

Peter Minshal's group is one of the most creative.
They had a simple sailor theme for 2003.

There are lots of little centers of activity near the parades.

The kids perform amazing feats on stilts.

Kids play with the feeling of power using a whip.
They make a very loud cracking noise.
People get out of the way fast.

Jan gets the hook.

All the kids want their picture taken with Chris.
