Athens
 

This location hosted the Panathenaic Games in honor of the Goddess Athena.  It was remade in marble in 329 BC.  It was refurbished for the revival of the Olympic Games 1870 - 1896 The icon of Athens is the Acropolis.  It stood fully intact from 400 BC until 1687.  During the war between the Republic of Venice and the Ottoman Empire it was used to store ammunition and when the ammunition dump exploded it was shattered.

Herod Atticus Theatre
Built in 160 A.D. by a rich Roman in memory of dead wife.
Concerts are held here in the summer.  Styles of performance range from Opera to rock musician Sting.
