The city of Memphis/Cairo can be seen from the plateau of the Giza pyramids.

Line to go inside the great pyramid at Giza.  We were told it was a dark narrow passage but did not have time to see for ourselves.

Chris pats the sphinx.  Don't get too close, it might bite.

The oldest pyramid in Egypt, the Step Pyramid, was built for Pharaoh Djoser in the 27th century BC.  This complex includes a tomb featuring with elabrate wall paintings.  The wall decorations are in great shape with intricate detail and much of the original color intact.  (obviously no photos)
